Well I thought this week it was only miserable in Indiana but apparently it was like this everywhere! So I hope you all stayed cool as best you could...
In the meantime we were sweating our butts off trying to get work done this week....I'm pretty sure Sister Dawes is tired of me complaining about how hot it is outside...but it really was super dang hot!
But we had some pretty cool things happen this week! We have 2 people on date to be baptized in August (as of last week) which is super exciting! We didnt get to see one of them (Sereta) but we did see the other!!! Her name is Sandra and shes 17. And shes the coolest person ever! And she is sooooo solid! We are so excited for her! We had a good lesson with her this week, and then she came to see someone else get baptized on Saturday. Later that day the ward had a party at the church for Pioneer Day! So the same member that brought her to the baptism brought her to the party too. We got there a bit late but when we walked in she was already sitting around a large table with all the young women!!!! They totally embraced her and helped her feel so welcome! It was amazing! She also came to church yesterday and said she loved it! She will be coming to an activity with another family and us tonight:) She is amazing and I cant wait to see her progress even more!
We also got stuffed by all the members this week! (So dont worry mom, we are definitely being taken care of!) We had a dinner EVERY single night! I think thats a first for me! One of the dinners was at a super good Indian food restaurant! I have never had Indian food but it was sooooo good! I think I found my new favorite! Too bad I had to come to Indiana and not India haha.
Something else funny that happened with me this week is my new obsession with the Old Testament!!! It all started when we started talking about the 12 tribes of Israel and I've always wanted to study it so I just started reading from the beginning of Genesis! And in about 3 days I read 42 chapters!!!! So yeah...I'm obsessed! I just think the stories and the lineage and everything is so cool!
So one of the things I really liked was the story about how Joseph got sold into Egypt. He was kinda mad about it because it was pretty rude of his brothers but later on he is able to serve the king and receives so many blessings! And the blessings are even passed onto his brothers and father when they find Joseph! And all these things would've never happened if he hadn't gotten sold. So even when we have hard times and we can't possible think of a positive reason that something is happening to us, I know that there is always a reason. There are never coincidences and God always has the most perfect plan for us! So just keep pressing forward and know that you will be alright in the end:)
Love you all so much! Have a wonderful week and stay cool:)

Well this week was the awesomest week ever! We saw soooo much success in our zone! At the beginning of the week we (8 companionships) had 7 people on a baptismal date and by the end of the week we had 18!!!! We all worked so hard and saw the results! It was amazing!
We,ourselves, helped 2 people set a date to be baptized! It was an awesome experience and we are so excited for them! I will tell you more about them next week:)
One thing I learned this week was from our district goal setting. When our district leader told us about the goal that we had to reach by the end of the week we definitely all thought it would be close to impossible. But we all shared how we would do it and how we could help each other. When we showed the Lord our diligence and desire to reach this goal (by exact obedience) and included Him in everything that we did, everything just happened! We saw success and miracles every single day! It was amazing! I know that as we strive to do our part and then involve Heavenly Father in the rest that He will help make our dreams into goals and our goals into success!
Love you all so much! Have an amazing week!
oh yeah, p.s. transfers are tomorrow but sister dawes and I are both staying:)

This week was awesome and we are definitely seeing the fruits of our labor now:) I am really starting to love Goshen and all the people here! I am excited to continue to bring the gospel into their lives:)
Sooooo....here are some highlights of the week:
"Do you pray to google or to God?"
So we had a dinner with this family from our ward and we were telling them how we had gotten "dropped" by 2 investigators already last week! (it means that they told us they don't want to meet anymore) And the reason was because they "researched the Mormon beliefs" online....so they probably ran into some unkind things on the internet. Anyways, this is what brother wilson's response was...
Pretzel Strawberry Salad
Another member fed us this week and we had this amazing salad stuff!!! It had pretzels and freah strawberries and cool whip! It was just sooo good and were still talking about it!! The members here feed us the bestest things ever!
We got to meet our new mission president this week! It was super awesome and we love him and his wife! Im really excited to see the changes they bring to this mission in order to find the most success:) Their theme is "full purpose of heart" and I love it!!! We are all working on having the best attitude we can when it comes to the work because it can definitely get discouraging. I also got to play the piano for a musical number and it (surprisingly) went well!!! I was happy to do it, but even more happy now that its over:)
We also had exchanges this week with our Sister Training Leaders! I got to go to Mishuaka with Sister Miles! We had an awesome day and saw many miracles and became friends:)
Members work Miracles!
MEMBERS ARE AWESOME!!! We seriously couldn't do this work without the members of the ward! They help us sooo much! On Saturday we took 2 different young women from the ward out to go tracting with us and oh man! We had so much more success with them there and talked to the coolest people!! It was amazing! And we exceeded our goal of lessons that day:)
Work even when you don't want to
Oh man! Is this the theme of my mission or what?! There are so many days when it is just so hard to get the motivation to work, but this week was awesome because we worked anyways! Last night we got done with dinner at 8 and we have to be in by 9, but we also had an hour of studies we needed to do but we only had 18 lessons (its expected of us to get 20 lessons every week)....so we talked to the zone leaders and asked what we should do and they said just go out and try to reach your goal of 20. So we followed them and they showed us to this trailer park and we started tracting!!! The first door there was this nice christian lady that listened as we taught a short lesson! 1 lesson down! Then we went to the next 2 doors and they were both Spanish and told us "no habla english"...so we moved on to the next house! There was 3 older people sitting in their yard with a bunch of stuff that they were "selling" (even though it was 8pm on a sunday). anyways we went up and just started talking to them! One lady, Julia, listened to us and we walked back over to her place because she was just visiting. As we went she was telling us about some hard times she was going through. we gave her a plan of salvation pamphlet and told her a little bit about the "life on earth" part and how we are meant to go through hard things because we need to learn and then I shared D & C 121:7-8 and told her how Joseph Smith was in jail and God told this to him. She loved it and wanted us to come back next week! It was sooo awesome! We were definitely blessed for being diligent and going out even though it was late and we didn't want to!
Well, that's all for this week! I hope you all have a great week! Love you all:)
