This week was great!!! So many things happened!
Here are a few:
- We had zone conference on Tuesday in South Bend with President Carlson! It was pretty awesome! We learned a lot and got to know what he wants to focus on more! Hopefully these next couple transfers will go well with the changes and different emphasis'.
- We talked to a super crazy and cool guy who was a bit odd but he wanted a Book of Mormon! So that was cool:) They are going back to teach him this week!
- A tornado touched down and wiped some stuff in Kokomo (hour and half south of here). It was pretty crazy! The weather here this week was wacko!
- A huge storm started while we were at church yesterday and at the end of sacrament meeting the power went out and so church was cancelled! Us missionaries had to wait it out a bit at church because they didn't want us out in the dangerous weather.
- SANDRA GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!!! It was wonderful! She was so cute and nervous and excited! I also gave a talk:)
- Transfer calls were on Saturday as well! Here's whats happening: Sister Dawes is staying and getting a new companion. I will be leaving and heading down to Westfield! Its in the middle of the city Indianapolis! Its also the ward that President and Sister Carlson are in! I will be getting 2 companions! We are going to be in a trio! So that's exciting...and a little weird! We will see how it goes:)
At church yesterday we had some amazing speakers! I wanted to share a few of the insights that I got!
The first speaker talked about charity and how to show more of it. There were 4 things she listed that we need to do: 1. Stop talking - stop complaining 2. Don't be lazy - if you want something to change you need to be the one to get up and change it! 3. Love everyone - we don't always have to love the choices that others make but we should love them as a person, or at least the potential that God sees in them 4. Love yourself - you don't need to be conceited but a little confidence can go a long way!
One of the other speakers talked about how we can be the Lord's hands in order to bless peoples lives. He told the story about the Brother of Jared (found in the Book of Mormon, Ether chapter 3) and how the Lord touched the stones in order for them to receive light (that might sound confusing but if you want to know more, just read the chapter:) ). Anyways, one of the quotes that I wrote down from him was "The hands of the Lord shines light in a world full of darkness". And that is so true! Christ is the light of the world! And when we are doing our part to become like Him and share His light with others, we, then, become the light that shines in the darkness too! We can bring the light of Christ into others' lives:)
Well, I must be off now! I still have a lot of packing and goodbyes to say today! I hope you all have a wonderful week! Especially those of you going back to school!

This week was so fun! The work was so slow but we had a fun week anyways!
Guess what?!?!? We got a washer and dryer in our apartment! That was the biggest blessing ever! We are so excited for it!
Guess what else?!? SANDRA IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!!! Yaayy!!! We are so excited for her! She has been doing amazing! She does all her readings and her prayers are the most precious things ever! I love hearing the prayers of people who are just learning how to! She has been coming to church and is really grasping onto the gospel and you can see the happiness in her eyes:)
Not a ton else happened this week though. We had some fun service at the Habitat for Humanities Re-store, at an organization called Soup for Success (which helps out people in the community that need extra help and resources), cleaning the church building, and helping a member paint her kitchen! We also went to this super cool Amish home that they use as a restaurant and had dinner! It was sooooo good! Everything was from scratch and from their farm! There was also some fun stake activities at the church! So we got to have fun and meet more of the members!
At the activity on Saturday night there was a deaf lady there and I got to sign with her for like 15 minutes and it was the coolest thing ever! I was soooo happy!
Well, thats about all that happened! like I said, a slow week. But this week is a new week and the last week of the transfer (also last week of training my wonderful greenie companion, sister dawes) and its gonna be a week for miracles! I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!

Hi everyone! The highlight of the week was having a smoothie party at our district meeting! It was super good and fun:) I also had to give a training on the Christ-like attribute of love and charity! It was super awesome to study and plan for! One thing that I really loved was this:
Love is just a feeling. But Charity is the action that we make as a result of love.
Some other highlights from the week:
Sandra is doing great!!! We taught her 2 more lessons this week and she came to church! She is scheduled to be baptized in 2 weeks!! YAAYY!!!
We TOTALLY got anti-mormoned this week! This guy was crazy and sit some weird stuff at us. We tried to talk to him but he just got upset and kept saying things. So we patiently listened and then left. I was so mad for the rest of the day but then I got over it. haha
We have a new investigator family!! Theyre super awesome and golden and we had an amazing lesson with them! We are super excited to see them again:)
We had a lesson with one investigator who has committed to us that she is going to quit smoking! Its really exciting because she wants to change but I know it will be hard. We were thinking about giving something up with her and I was thinking about doing chocolate.......
Another investigator dropped us and picked us back up within 24 hours! Hahah! We were so bummed but just let it go and the spirit definitely worked on her and helped her to understand that she needs the gospel in her life! She texted us saying that she needs to be closer to God and she wont let anyone get in the way! She is awesome!
There was 2 baptisms on Saturday!!! And one was someone for our ward! It was so cool to see these people from where they started and how happy they are now from coming closer to God :)
Well thats about it!! I hope you all are doing well! I love you sooo much!
Good luck to everyone who's going back to school!

Well this week was the awesomest week ever! We saw soooo much success in our zone! At the beginning of the week we (8 companionships) had 7 people on a baptismal date and by the end of the week we had 18!!!! We all worked so hard and saw the results! It was amazing!
We,ourselves, helped 2 people set a date to be baptized! It was an awesome experience and we are so excited for them! I will tell you more about them next week:)
One thing I learned this week was from our district goal setting. When our district leader told us about the goal that we had to reach by the end of the week we definitely all thought it would be close to impossible. But we all shared how we would do it and how we could help each other. When we showed the Lord our diligence and desire to reach this goal (by exact obedience) and included Him in everything that we did, everything just happened! We saw success and miracles every single day! It was amazing! I know that as we strive to do our part and then involve Heavenly Father in the rest that He will help make our dreams into goals and our goals into success!
Love you all so much! Have an amazing week!
oh yeah, p.s. transfers are tomorrow but sister dawes and I are both staying:)

This week was awesome and we are definitely seeing the fruits of our labor now:) I am really starting to love Goshen and all the people here! I am excited to continue to bring the gospel into their lives:)
Sooooo....here are some highlights of the week:
"Do you pray to google or to God?"
So we had a dinner with this family from our ward and we were telling them how we had gotten "dropped" by 2 investigators already last week! (it means that they told us they don't want to meet anymore) And the reason was because they "researched the Mormon beliefs" online....so they probably ran into some unkind things on the internet. Anyways, this is what brother wilson's response was...
Pretzel Strawberry Salad
Another member fed us this week and we had this amazing salad stuff!!! It had pretzels and freah strawberries and cool whip! It was just sooo good and were still talking about it!! The members here feed us the bestest things ever!
We got to meet our new mission president this week! It was super awesome and we love him and his wife! Im really excited to see the changes they bring to this mission in order to find the most success:) Their theme is "full purpose of heart" and I love it!!! We are all working on having the best attitude we can when it comes to the work because it can definitely get discouraging. I also got to play the piano for a musical number and it (surprisingly) went well!!! I was happy to do it, but even more happy now that its over:)
We also had exchanges this week with our Sister Training Leaders! I got to go to Mishuaka with Sister Miles! We had an awesome day and saw many miracles and became friends:)
Members work Miracles!
MEMBERS ARE AWESOME!!! We seriously couldn't do this work without the members of the ward! They help us sooo much! On Saturday we took 2 different young women from the ward out to go tracting with us and oh man! We had so much more success with them there and talked to the coolest people!! It was amazing! And we exceeded our goal of lessons that day:)
Work even when you don't want to
Oh man! Is this the theme of my mission or what?! There are so many days when it is just so hard to get the motivation to work, but this week was awesome because we worked anyways! Last night we got done with dinner at 8 and we have to be in by 9, but we also had an hour of studies we needed to do but we only had 18 lessons (its expected of us to get 20 lessons every week)....so we talked to the zone leaders and asked what we should do and they said just go out and try to reach your goal of 20. So we followed them and they showed us to this trailer park and we started tracting!!! The first door there was this nice christian lady that listened as we taught a short lesson! 1 lesson down! Then we went to the next 2 doors and they were both Spanish and told us "no habla english"...so we moved on to the next house! There was 3 older people sitting in their yard with a bunch of stuff that they were "selling" (even though it was 8pm on a sunday). anyways we went up and just started talking to them! One lady, Julia, listened to us and we walked back over to her place because she was just visiting. As we went she was telling us about some hard times she was going through. we gave her a plan of salvation pamphlet and told her a little bit about the "life on earth" part and how we are meant to go through hard things because we need to learn and then I shared D & C 121:7-8 and told her how Joseph Smith was in jail and God told this to him. She loved it and wanted us to come back next week! It was sooo awesome! We were definitely blessed for being diligent and going out even though it was late and we didn't want to!
Well, that's all for this week! I hope you all have a great week! Love you all:)
Love, sister griffiths <3
Sister Dawes is the greatest! We have had such a fun time together this week! And many quotes have been added to our quote wall!
This week was BLAZING hot! I was dying everyday we had to be outside! But we did it anyways! Sister Dawes is so cute...she just kept saying "Its not that bad out here".
But this week was also pretty slow, which is sad because I felt like we were working so hard all week long! But we had the coolest miracle happen last night that made the whole week worth it!
On Sunday we tried some less actives and they weren't home, so we ended up tracting for and hour and a half straight in the blazing heat before our dinner appointment. We tracted a whole street and we only talked to two people and they just responded with "we are trying to sleep". I was so frustrated and just tired, but we went to another street and we just didn't feel good about it so we continued to drive to another and we actually felt good about it. We prayed in the car to have the spirit with us and to be guided. As we were sitting there I saw a mom and daughter playing in the yard and thought to myself "we're gonna get them!"
Sister Dawes got the idea of asking people on the doorstep if we could share a scripture with them. I thought that it would be a good idea but had never really done it so we did a role play in the car. We finished the role play and we started knocking on on doors. By that time the mother and daughter had already gone inside so I was kinda bummed.
So after a lot of silent doors. We make it to this family's home and a guy shows up to the door. He wasn't interested very much at all at first. We asked if we could share a scripture and he said sure go ahead. It was Ether 12:6 and we talked about faith and trials. He still wasn't interested but Sister Dawes asked how Faith in Jesus Christ has helped him. This then opened him up to telling us that he lost everything, his home, his belongings and what not. He then tells us how his mother told him just to have faith and now have a roof over his head.
So we said that since he had this faith in Christ his life is better and he is happier, wouldn't you want to have God help you with everything and can have long lasting happiness and joy. And he said Yes!!! So we set up a return appointment and left him with a Plan of Salvation Pamphlet.
This week, on Wednesday, was the farewell zone conference for our mission president! It was a multi-zone conference and we were paired with Lafayette!!!! So I got to see all my Lafayette peeps! It was so fun! When we pulled up to the church that morning, the APs (assistant to the president, a leadership for missionaries) were walking around asking who could play the piano. I said I couldn't play very good and suggested someone else. And they mentioned that they already asked that person and since the song was a complicated one they didn't know who could play it...sooner or later they mentioned that it was the EFY medley (the only church song i sorta know how to play) and so I had to play it! I wanted to barf! Its been a while since I've played it and I have never known it perfectly....but they made me play it anyways haah...it was interesting.
Sorry for the long letter! I hope you all have a great week!
I also forgot my camera so I will send pics next week...
