Welp! Looks like I'm gettin transferred to a new area! I am sooooooo sad to leave Indy! But I'm sure my new area is going to be great! I'm getting transferred to.....drumm rolllll pleasseee......IU-Bloomington! I'm going to another campus! And my new companion is Sister Jones! It should be a good time down there!
Highlights from the week:
Tuesday: Haircut! Yay! Also, dinner at Yats (a super cool Cajun restaurant).
Wednesday: SUPER awesome lesson with Eddie (a recent convert) and his 2 good friends, Zach and Josh! They are amazing! And they were so into the lesson and understanding everything we talked about and basically just had a cool discussion about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! They also understood the Priesthood authority and wanted to be baptized by it!
Also visited someone from Sis B's last ward who was in the hospital across the street! She was so sweet and excited to see us:)
Thursday: ZONE CONFERENCE! It was soooooo good! We had a re-cap from what we learned with Brother Donaldson (from when he toured the mission)!
Later that night we had a lesson with Moises, one of Eddie's other good friends, and it was another GREAT lesson! He understood it all too! Its fun to see the "4 amigos" learn the Gospel together:)
Friday: Lots of walking around on campus trying to find people to talk to! We went to Johnzee's debate to run for president of the African Student Association Club! He did awesome!
Saturday: Transfer calls :( Then we went to the temple with Eddie! He got to bring his grandfathers name! So great! Then we emailed and Johnzee came to visit us:) That night we got to hang out with all the ladies from church and watched the Women's Session of General Conference!!! It was soooooo good! Plus we had some awesome treats :) Wouldn't be a ladies night without chocolate!
Sunday: Church was great! It was sad having to say goodbye to everyone! After church we went to go and visit STACIE! She is now being taught by the Mooresville elders and is on date to be baptized! I promised her that I would come back for her baptism:)
Love you all! Have a greattttt week!!! Go read John 4!!! Its a good one:)
WELP!!! I have no energy or motivation to write about our week......sorry mom!
But just know that it was good!
We found 12 new investigators!
We went on 2 exchanges, back to back! It was exhausting!
We are starting our "6 months to sexy" workouts in the morning! (As my dad put it..."good thing youre working out! otherwise it would be the '6 months to saggy'" good one dad!)
We went to a Chocolate Gallery (aka my new home!)
We went to Mishawaka for a baptism!!!
We gave away a ton of food to the elders (they love us!....appropriately)
SHOUTOUT TO MY AWESOME BRO FOR GETTING INTO BYU-HAWAII!!!
Love you all! Have a GREAT week!!!
<3 sista g
Heeeyyyy everyone! This week was the COOLEST week eveerrr!!!!
So let me start it off with this background info:
In our zone this week we have a goal of beating the mission record for new investigators! The record is 78 new investigators for a zone in one week! Because of this we wanted to make a side bet with the elders that live right next to us for this week to see who could get the most new investigators. This wasn't about numbers, but about motivation because we have all been in a little bit of a rut lately and we wanted to get pumped about the work again! So this is how we did it!
Tuesday - Service in the morning. Lesson with Johnzee! He is so stubborn but we love him! He still wont come to church though:( Then we went walking on campus for 2 hours to find new people to teach! Surprisingly, it was easy this day! People were really willing to talk and we got a return appointment with 7 people! Then a lesson with Daijon! It was....interesting. He is someone new we are teaching. He kept getting very distracted. It was a powerful lesson though, so hopefully some of it sunk into his heart.
Wednesday - We had a lesson with Kim! And she accepted our invitation to be baptized! She finally has felt the message we are sharing is true and wants to be baptized! Yay:) Then we went to pick up our new car!!! (see attached pictures) The best part is the "new car" smell. We walked on campus for a while again and talked to some new people! We found 4! We went to the church later and had a lesson with Eddie, who is doing great, dinner, and then walked onto campus again with the elders! It was a fun day!
Thursday - We volunteered at the Childrens Museum! It was so awesome! K-2 was there on field trips and there were different learning stations around. Ours was one about making up our own fairytale! It was so fun and the kids were so cute! Then we went on campus again to talk to people! We only found 3. That evening we had dinner/lesson with Caesar! He is soooooo cool! He used to meet with missionaries about 2 years ago! And we just got back in contact with him! He has a hard time believing in God and that He will answer his prayers, so we challenged him to pray everyday last week. When we were talking to him, he was sooo excited to tell us that HE PRAYED EVERYDAY LAST WEEK!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! We almost jumped out of our chairs and yelled in the middle of the restaurant! (dont worry, we didnt do it...) We were so proud of him! After dinner we went back to the church to have a lesson with Danny, a recent convert, and "his elders". It was a POWERFUL lesson filled with the SPIRIT! So amazing!
Friday - District meeting! I gave a training on teaching with your companion in unity! It went really well! Then our entire day of plans proceeded to cancel on us! It was pretty sad:( And then on our way walking home it started to POUR on us! And we didnt have coats OR umbrella! So we just started running! Pretty sure everyone driving past us was laughing at these 2 weirdo girls in dresses running in the rain through downtown Indy! We had a great dinner at Jimmy Johns though! And then a BOMB lesson with a new person, Isamari! She is amazing!
Saturday - Eddie made us breakfast! Then we went to a baptism at the church! Then we did some prep for the upcoming week! Dinner at home along with planning, face masks and nails!
Sunday - CHURCH! We had TWO of our new people there!!! YAAYYY!!! It was awesome! And we also had some really good classes :) We had dinner at the church, and then a lesson with Moises, another new person. ANOTHER POWERFUL LESSON!!!! The spirit was sooo strong:)
Sunday evening right before we fell asleep we found out that we lost the bet:( the elders found 22! BUUTTT!!!!!! We also found out that our DISTRICT ALONE got 78 new investigators and as a zone we got 123!!!!! YAAYY!!! Our zone rocked it this week! I love when we all work together for something awesome! Miracles still do happen!
Love you! Sister Griffiths
Hey hey everyone! We had a wonderful week!!!!! And it all started with my new companion on Tuesday! Her name is Sister Burgon and she is AMAZING!
I picked her up at transfers on Tuesday (and said goodbye to Sister Price :'( ) and then we got to work! And we worked hard all week long! It was great and we had some cool miracles come from it! Here are some of the highlights:
Wednesday: Lots of planning and goal setting! We got super pumped and excited for this new transfer! We met with our investigator Caesar and he is great! He actually took our challenge of praying....except he fell asleep in the middle of it! Darn! You win some, you lose some. But he prayed with us during the lesson and it was very powerful!
Thursday: Exchanges! I was on campus with Sister Reed again! I love that girl! We had a day packed full with lessons! They all went really well and one grace was that we got to talk to Sister Price on the phone! When we were at our lesson with Eddie, he needed to call her to ask a question so we got to talk to her briefly too:) Another AMAZING grace was the sunset! (see pics below)
Friday: MIRACLE DAYY!!!!!! So in the morning we had district meeting with our new district! They are all super awesome and Im excited to get to know them better! So we had an awesome meeting about goals and then we set some! In the middle of it we were talking to the elders (the ones that live across the pond from us) and long story short, we made a bet with them of who can get the most new investigators! Loser has to buy ice cream! We were soo pumped and we wanted to beat them so bad, so as soon as the meeting was over we all went out and started working really hard! And we had 5 new investigators from it! But not just any 5....a MIRACLE 5! Each one of them has a story behind it and and each one of those stories was a miracle of how we met them! We also got homemade traditional japanese food for dinner, so that was great too!
Saturday: We went to the temple with Eddie! Except there was also a wedding happening from the Mishawaka ward and a ton of people I used to know were there and it was sooooo awesome to see them all:) While we were at the temple, Eddie got to be baptized for some of my own ancestors so that was neat as well!
Sunday: A great day at church even though our investigator didnt make it:(

Hey everyone! This week was awesome! We had so many good things happen! It is definitely because of our willingness to work and look to the Lord in everything! He blessed us so much!
Here are the highlights!
Monday: I made a goal with myself that I was gonna be EXTRA obedient and diligent this week because I knew the Lord would only bless us if we are willing to put in the work! So I studied really hard and prayed and decided with the Lord what I was going to do to be better and work really hard all week long!
Tuesday: My quote for the day was "You are called to serve, not called to sit around!" We worked hard today and did some awesome stuff!
We got a haircut in the morning, and then taught a recently baptized guy who has had a hard time coming to church. He is so funny and we had a great lesson about the strippling warriors (Alma ch.24).
Then we went to the library to look at the map of the city and also for Sister Price to work on things for home since she leaves next week!
Wednesday: Today's quote was "Whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it."
In the morning we had a district meeting at the church! It was really good and went along great with my goal to be better!
Then we had to leave early because we had a lesson/lunch with our investigator Lauren! Shes so awesome! We had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings in downtown Indy. She has a friend who is Mormon and started asking him some questions about it but he moved so he told her to meet with us! She has a lot of questions and we were able to teach her about Gods Plan of Salvation! It was a really good lesson!
Then we went to help a member move into her new house! Then we had another lesson with an investigator! We met up on campus. It was another really good lesson and we feel like we are finally getting somewhere with her! yay!
Right after she left another guy, who we met for the first time, came and we had a lesson with him! He was contacted by some missionaries up north by Chicago but he moved here before he ever got the chance to meet with them again so we got his information! He is super cool! My favorite part of the lesson was when we shared the First Vision of Joseph Smith with him. As I was quoting it his eyes got bigger and his smile too! After I finished he had a huge smile and all he could say was "wow!" It was such a tender moment:)
Thursday: No quote for today but it was a busy day as well! We had a lesson with an investigator in the morning on campus! It went well and we talked about baptism and what Christ teaches us about the correct way to do it.
Then we had another lesson with a new investigator! He was taught by lots of missionaries in the past few years but came to a point that he felt like he couldn't do it anymore. We reached out to him a few weeks ago and then had lunch with him and he said he feels like he is ready for it again!
In the afternoon we had a lesson with Stacie! She is doing so awesome! She has now been to church 3 weeks in a row and had kept all of the commitments we left with her (reading and praying)! We invited her to be baptized and she said YES! without hesitation! On Sunday when she came to church we asked her if she had prayed about the date she wanted to do it and she said March 18! Yayy!!! We are so excited for her!
Friday: We had Missionary Leadership Council all day! We met with President and Sister Carlson, the assistants, and all the other zone leaders and sister training leaders in the mission. It was a really good meeting! We had some great trainings and discussions about how we can help the mission continue to improve!
After MLC we went out to dinner with a member from Sister Price's old area! She took us to a cool pizza place downtown! It was really yummy!
Saturday: We did some yoga, and then had 8 baptisms to attend! (Two families of 4). It was awesome! One was for the Spanish branch and the other for the ward in White River.
Sunday: Stacie came! We had some awesome lessons at church and then came home after and rested because we both werent feeling very well.
Overall it was such a great week! We were blessed so much! I know that its through our faith that the Lord will bless us with miracles! Ether 12:16
"Yea, and even all they who wrought miracles wrought them by faith, even those who were before Christ and also those who were after."
Love you all!!
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good week! We definitely did! And it was so warm! We walked out of a lesson on Saturday and Sister Price says, "Oh my! Its so hot out here! This is gross!" And I respond, "This is MY kind of winter!" I was in heaven all week with this amazing weather!
But the weather wasnt the only thing good about this week! Here are some highlights:
-We had an awesome lesson with our investigator Yoshika! She is very knowledgeable and wants to know a lot. We talked about the joy that the gospel brings and how she can have that too.
-Dinner at Qdoba! It was soooooo good!!
-Interviews with President Carlson! He is awesome!
-Also, while we were there, there was a member who lives in Plainfield there. She wanted to talk to me because she has a deaf daughter and there are some other deaf people that attend their church meetings and she is the interpreter for them! She heard that I know ASL and so we talked for a long time about the deaf members and also the deaf community around the city! I got to talk to the mission president about it too and I have a feeling we might be getting somewhere with it! Im sooooo excited! I would love to be a part of starting up an ASL assignment to the missionaries in this mission!
-Exchanges!!! I went with Sister Reed, here in Indy. We had a lot of fun! We taught a few people and walked around on campus in attempt to talk to people....except campus was DEAD! I guess no one likes to go there on their Friday afternoons.
-Helped clean the church!
-Nerf war with the YSA and some other missionaries at the church! It was a lot of fun!
-Relief Society activity at the church too! And our new investigator Stacie came!!!
-Stacie came to church too!! Yaayy!!! She contacted us first because she wanted to know more about what we believe. She has some family that is Mormon and she is interested! She is so sweet and Im so excited to start teaching her!
Thoughts from this week
Theres a couple things that stood out to me this week in studies, conversations with other missionaries and at church tomorrow and I want to share them with you!
"There is no growth in the comfort zone. And there is no comfort in the growth zone." This quote has totally followed me on my whole mission! My 2nd companion, Sister Spratling, and I used this as our theme! And I totally forgot about it until yesterday at church someone said it! But I love it so much because its true! Every time I look back in my life and especially in my mission where I grew or learned something important it was because I put myself out there, tried something new, and embraced the awkward! The Lord only blesses us if we are willing to try something. There are so many examples from the scriptures of people that really didnt want to do something or werent sure that they would be able to yet they had courage and did it anyways! The Lord blessed them AND they were able to learn an important lesson!
Also I LOOVVEE Alma chapter 26 in the Book of Mormon! If you have the chance I challenge you to read it this week! Ammon gives so much hope to the people he is talking to! And there are some great lessons that I learned from it that I know you can learn too!
Well thats all folks! Have a great last week of January! I love you!

Hello everyone!!! Welp, I was transferred! I am not in the heart of downtown Indy! We are right next to a bunch of cool things (Indy 500 track, Colts stadium, Indianapolis Zoo...)
And I love it here!!! We are campus missionaries on IUPUI (an off campus mix of Indiana University and Purdue University) and for the YSA branch! Its soo much fun! ANNDD there is sooo much work to do here! I love it!
My new companion is Sister Price! Shes from Mountain Home Idaho and I love her! We have already become really good friends and are super excited for the work to pick back up this week!
Last week (right before I got here) a guy named Eddie got baptized! And let me tell you! Eddie is the coolest person I've ever met! He was soo ready for the gospel! Before we even got back on tuesday and put all my stuff away he had texted us wanting to know when we could meet with him again and teach him more and when he could receive the priesthood! He is awesome!
My first week here was a little slow because campus was still closed for winter break and everyone was still out of town! BUT campus opened today!!! YAAYYY!!!! So we are starting to get back in contact with everyone so we can see them and teach them this week!
One piece of exciting news...there is a deaf guy in our branch! I'm super lame and haven't talked (signed) with him yet but I'm super excited to when I see him again!!!
Well...thats all for this week! Hope you guys have an awesome 2nd week of 2017!
Love you all!
