Hey everyone! Hope you all had a GREAT week! We definitely did! and let me tell you...it was ALL because of Heavenly Father! Man, oh, man does He love us! He had such a role in our week this week and I was just reminded of His love and awareness of me:)
So, last Sunday was pretty great! We (the 6 missionaries in the branch) were asked to do a musical number! So after a long time of debating and coming up with ideas we decided on the song "Lead Kindly Light". Sister Collins played the piano and the other 5 of us sang! It turned out REALLY good! We even sang a part in the song a Capella! ANDRE also came to church, so that was great!
That afternoon we visited Sister Pettay and then had dinner with Sam and Taitum! We made this cool Japanese fried vegetables! Sooooo good! The only bad part was the rule was we had to eat the WHOLE meal with chopsticks....and something about me: I can NOT use chopsticks to save my life! So I was definitely the last one to finish!
Monday was memorial day! We went over to the Goodnights house with their extended family and had a food party! It was really fun and REALLY delicious! We walked around later that afternoon on campus and actually had some success! We talked to 2 people who were interested! Yay! One girl, Maria, commented "How did you know to come talk to me, can you like sense when someone needs your message?" Soooooo cool! Little blessings from God:)
Tuesday we had a lesson with ANDRE! It was great! We talked about fasting and prayer with him! We asked him if he would be willing to fast with us on Sunday (fast sunday) about June 17 as a baptismal date...and he ACCEPTED! Even better was that he was excited about it! So cool! He has changed so much!
Both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon we went to a Methodist church downtown because they were redoing/repainting for a new preschool to be there! So we painted, and painted, and painted.......and painted some more! But it was sooo fun! Painting is one of my favorite services to do:)
Wednesday morning we had district meeting! It was SUCH a good one! We were ranting on and on about how Amalickiah (one of the characters from Alma chapter 47 in the Book of Mormon) is such a PUNK! If you wanna know what I'm talking about, just go and read the chapter.
Thursday! We saw ANDRE and MICHAEL in the morning! Andres lesson was great! We read Alma 20 together and talked about overcoming fears and acting in faith. In the afternoon we went to the food pantry and it was PACKED! I have never seen so many people there before! We were very busy! And for dinner we went to this cool place called Dats, its a Southern Cajun place! Yum!
FRIDAAYY!!!!!!!!!! So gold! We had MLC (mission leadership council) with our mission president! It was soooo spirit filled and Heavenly Father answered soo many prayers! We went over a lot of policy changes/reemphasizing stuff which was long and a little difficult but I KNOW that it will help this mission be the best! Obedience definitely brings blessings and miracles!
SATURDAY was awesome too! We got to go to the temple with our stake president and some of the mission leaders in the area! Again, soooo spirit filled! It was great!
And yesterday, church was great! We fasted with Andre and he stayed at church the WHOLE time this week! Yay! The fasting went well and we are going to talk to him more about it at our next lesson!
Something that stood out to me this week in studies is Gods love! There is an awesome video where Elder Holland talks about it! He says:
"The Savior understands us because He is not an abstraction. Because He is a living, breathing, real Son of God. The living Son of the living God. People who think they've sinned too much, or gone too far, or been away for too long and somehow can't come back into the circle, my declaration is: no one can fall lower than the light of Christ shines. That is impossible."
I KNOW that God loves us so much! I see the evidences of it every day! And I know He loves every single one of you as well! He is there even when we don't expect it and ESPECIALLY when you need it. Look to Him in every thought, doubt not, fear not.
Love you all! Hope you enjoy your week!
Also a little shoutout to my Uncle Ryan, Aunt Desi, and cousin Avery for having birthdays this week! Happy birthday! And an early congratulations to my little bro, Sawyer, for graduating high school!!! Wow!
