Wow! This week was amazing! God blessed us with so many miracles!
Andre - We had 2 awesome lessons with him this week! He is doing sooo amazing! We read another chapter in the Book of Mormon on Monday with him and he loved it! We were able to talk about the blessings we have in our life and how we should be thankful rather than prideful.
Then we saw him again on Thursday. Let me tell you this crazy story! Ok, so we were supposed to meet at 11am. 11:15 rolls around and we hadn't heard from him...11:20....11:30....he never misses appointments! So we call him again with no answer. We decide to just go out on campus and if he calls we would come back. Right before we go we pray. As Sister Jones is praying for Andre the phone starts ringing! She looks up at me, I look up at her and very quickly she ends the prayer as I am searching my bag for the phone andddd....ITS ANDRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He accidentally overslept and was now frantically riding his bike to the lesson! Ahh! Love that kid! We ended up having an AWESOME lesson about the Plan of Salvation! It was kind of spontaneous but it was so cool because as we were finishing up he made comments about how he needed to be reminded of the eternal perspective in life and that he knows it will help him with his faith and overcoming fear! Yay!
ALLSOOO!!!! He came to Institute class on Wednesday night! We didnt even ask him or remind him to come! He just wanted to come again because he liked it last time! We had to leave early because we had a lesson (see the section on Joe) but one of the girls in the class came up to us after and told us about this super AWESOME comment that Andre gave in class! They were learning about talents and how to develop them and Andre said, "Discovering your talents is more like remembering what your spirit did before this life." WHHAAA?!?!?!?
Finding - On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday our day was mostly filled with finding new people to teach on campus! Luckily for us there is a program called "groups" where incoming freshman come early and take classes and learn how to be a successful college student! So there are actually people around to talk to! Yay! On Thursday we had the coolest experience! While we were walking around (and drenched in sweat) we started a conversation with this super cute girl! She is a strong christian and was just thinking about how she needs to find a church around here. She started to ask about us and our missionary work as we walked with her to class and she was amazed but also thought it was "super weird". Haha! At least she's honest about it! It is pretty weird sometimes! As we were saying goodbye she told us how just the night before she was crying because she felt so overwhelmed and prayed to God and then the next day we showed up! She said she was so grateful! Ahh!!!! It made our whole day!
Hannah - We met up with Hannah (a member) for ice cream on Monday just to catch up. The ice cream was so good! As we started talking she opened up to us that she has been having a hard time lately and she was glad we asked her to meet up so she could talk and hear our advice! Another answer to prayers!
Joe - We met Joe last week and had our first lesson with him on Wednesday! We taught him about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he loved it! He was open to it and then offered to pray at the end! He prayed to Heavenly Father and asked so sincerely to know if what we taught him was true! He wanted to know so bad! It was so cool!
Transfers - This week on Tuesday was transfers! I get to stay here on IU with Sister Jones for my last transfer! But we went to transfers because a bunch of our sisters were leaving and a couple were being double transferred in and we wanted to make sure they were ok! My trainee, Sister Dawes, is in my zone now! As well as Sister Spratling, who was my 2nd companion! This is going to be a great last transfer!
Sorry for the long email this week! I guess it makes up for all the other ones that have been short:)
Love you all! Hope you have a great week! See you soon! (ahh, weird!)
Love, Sister Griffiths
