Hello everyone! Hope you all have a great 4th of July holiday!
This weeks highlights:
Sunday was fast and testimony meeting! It was really good! It was the last one of my mission so I got to bear my testimony! We were also fasting with Andre all day for him to receive more guidence! It went really well and he said he felt peace! Yay! Little progress steps!
We had a missionary BBQ and activities at the park on the 4th of July! It was really fun! Our whole zone got together and hung out! We all headed out around 4 because they all had members to hang out with...sadly we didn't. BUT we still had fun! Sister Jones and I cooked a taco dinner for the IU crew (us, the sisters and the elders. All 6 of us are campus missionaries)! And it was supperrrr good! We all haven't had mexican food in a while! After Andre and some members came by and we watched a church movie together! At the end we turned on the lights and pretty much everyone was crying!
I got to go on exchanges with SISTER DAWES this week!!!! For those of you that don't remember, that is my baby!!! (trainee) She is already past her 1 year mark! Crazy! And we were reminiscing about our times together in Elkhart/Goshen a whole year ago! We were dying in the heat together last summer! It was so cool to be with her again a year later! She has changed and grown so much! I'm just a proud little mama :)
ANDRREEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, so we had a lesson with him Tuesday morning which went well! We just did another Book of Mormon read. He is really loving the Book of Mormon and is always excited to see what happens in the next chapter. Then he came to institute class on Wednesday (even though we were late getting back from a dinner). And then Friday night we were up in Carmel (just north of Indianapolis) for a meeting so that night we had Andre and AJ meet us at the temple! We walked around and went inside to see the lobby. We had the chance to split off and pray/ponder about stuff. As we were talking to him after we asked how it was and how he felt and he LOVED it! He said it was so peaceful and that he loved the feeling that hit him right as he walked in! YAAYYYYY! And he even took a huge step of faith! One of his professors informed him that morning that he had a mandatory meeting that night but he said he couldn't make it (because he already promised us that he would go to the temple) and he was scared but his professor ended up being ok with it! MIRACLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So on Friday during the day we had MLC...my last one! Wow! That's weird to say! But anyways...it was such a good day! We learned a ton and the spirit was so strong! It's crazy that I'm at the end of my mission, because it really doesn't feel like it! The whole time during the meeting I kept being reminded of things that I want to work on and get better at and I don't have very much time left! So now its crunch time! (Real crunches too because Indiana likes to feed you a lot) I also got the chance (along with 10 others who are going home with me) to share my "departing testimony" at the end of the meeting!
I talked a lot about how the theme of my mission has been change. A change in me and the people I've worked with! It's amazing to see the changes that can occur when we focus our lives on the Gospel of Jesus Christ! He truly is the one that can help us become someone that we could've never imagined we could be!
Love you all!
