Welp! Looks like I'm gettin transferred to a new area! I am sooooooo sad to leave Indy! But I'm sure my new area is going to be great! I'm getting transferred to.....drumm rolllll pleasseee......IU-Bloomington! I'm going to another campus! And my new companion is Sister Jones! It should be a good time down there!
Highlights from the week:
Tuesday: Haircut! Yay! Also, dinner at Yats (a super cool Cajun restaurant).
Wednesday: SUPER awesome lesson with Eddie (a recent convert) and his 2 good friends, Zach and Josh! They are amazing! And they were so into the lesson and understanding everything we talked about and basically just had a cool discussion about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! They also understood the Priesthood authority and wanted to be baptized by it!
Also visited someone from Sis B's last ward who was in the hospital across the street! She was so sweet and excited to see us:)
Thursday: ZONE CONFERENCE! It was soooooo good! We had a re-cap from what we learned with Brother Donaldson (from when he toured the mission)!
Later that night we had a lesson with Moises, one of Eddie's other good friends, and it was another GREAT lesson! He understood it all too! Its fun to see the "4 amigos" learn the Gospel together:)
Friday: Lots of walking around on campus trying to find people to talk to! We went to Johnzee's debate to run for president of the African Student Association Club! He did awesome!
Saturday: Transfer calls :( Then we went to the temple with Eddie! He got to bring his grandfathers name! So great! Then we emailed and Johnzee came to visit us:) That night we got to hang out with all the ladies from church and watched the Women's Session of General Conference!!! It was soooooo good! Plus we had some awesome treats :) Wouldn't be a ladies night without chocolate!
Sunday: Church was great! It was sad having to say goodbye to everyone! After church we went to go and visit STACIE! She is now being taught by the Mooresville elders and is on date to be baptized! I promised her that I would come back for her baptism:)
Love you all! Have a greattttt week!!! Go read John 4!!! Its a good one:)
I am too lazy today to tell about our week but Sis B had a great email to explain!
"" haha hey :) this week, Sister Griffiths and I had a moment of realization...that missionaries are just the Lord's official stalkers haha in the best way possible of course. We have fun:)
It was Spring Break on campus this week so no students were here, but somehow we still had people to teach and saw miracles....the Lord provides that's for sure.
One day we decided to check out campus to try again, it was dead of course so we decided to leave to be more productive elsewhere, but on our way out, we ran into one of our potential investigators. His appointment didn't work out last week, so we decided to just sit down right there and have our lesson. So we did, and it was no coincidence that we just so happen to see him that day, because that lesson was goooood. His need was really prevalent and the Gospel had a lot of application to him. Then as we were finishing up, his friend came and sat down and started asking really good questions too, so we had like another little lesson haha but now they are both interested and we are e x c i t e d for them:)
Another fun fact for the week....there are a lot of Spanish speakers here, and occasionally we get texts in Spanish, or talk to the Spanish missionaries, or Spanish investigators...we learned real quick this week (after me reading a text in Spanish) that Sister Burgon is real white and it's a good thing I got called to speak english hahahahaha good laughs for sure:)
We also got to teach Daffany and Meydi this week. Its really cool to see their desire to learn. They have been taught before, so it's awesome to teach them again and refresh their memories and see their interest increase. Their little sister, Ashley, sat in on the lesson too and now we are teaching her YAY:)
I HAVE THE STRONGEST TESTIMONY OF MEMBER MISSIONARY WORK!!! All of our investigators that came to church yesterday were because of members helping us out, bringing their friends, and just doing a really good job to connect and fellowship. ""
Love you all!
Hey everyone! This is gonna be another short one! Sorry!
Today is my 14 month mark as a missionary! 4 more to go! (sadly...)
Tuesday: "Exchanges" (it was only for a few hours) with the Plainfield sisters! They accidentally took our phone so we also didnt have it for that whole day! That was an adventure but the Lord took care of us and we had some cool miracles come from it:)
Thursday: Special MLC (meeting) with Brother Donaldson and Brother Cates from the Missionary Department! It was AMAAZIINGGGGG!!! We learned soooo much and were taught basically to do missionary work in a COMPLETELY new way than we were doing before!
Saturday: We went to Terra Haute (sister b's last area) for a baptism! It was amazing and the spirit was SOOO strong!
Something Ive been learning a lot about the last few weeks is the Doctrine (or Gospel) of Jesus Christ! It is the coolest thing ever! It is so complex and we can never stop learning about it, yet it is also so simple a child can understand it:) It has 5 simple steps:
The Gift of the Holy Ghost
Enduring to the End
Something that Brother Donaldson emphasized is knowing where we are at on this path, and what the next step/action we need to take! Its a good reflective activity! SOO do it! Where are you on the path and what can you do next to come closer to Christ??
Love you all! Sorry again for all the short stuff! Its hard to have motivation to write a lot! On the (not) bright side, its SNOWING outside right now! Brrrrrrr!!!
Have a great week!
WELP!!! I have no energy or motivation to write about our week......sorry mom!
But just know that it was good!
We found 12 new investigators!
We went on 2 exchanges, back to back! It was exhausting!
We are starting our "6 months to sexy" workouts in the morning! (As my dad put it..."good thing youre working out! otherwise it would be the '6 months to saggy'" good one dad!)
We went to a Chocolate Gallery (aka my new home!)
We went to Mishawaka for a baptism!!!
We gave away a ton of food to the elders (they love us!....appropriately)
SHOUTOUT TO MY AWESOME BRO FOR GETTING INTO BYU-HAWAII!!!
Love you all! Have a GREAT week!!!
