Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!!!
This is gonna be short! Sorry!
Tuesday we met with a new investigator names Patrick and taught him the first lesson! He is awesome and wants to be baptized! Hopefully we can set a date with him this week!
It was verryyy cold and snowy all week! But we are surviving! I made my first snowman and had my first snowball fight!!! It was awesome! I love the snow but hate the cold...kinda a weird combo.
Thursday we had exchanges with South Bend! It was awesome! We met some super cool people! And we got suck in snow after avoiding a car crash! But dont worry! We are fine:)
Friday we basically shoveled peoples driveway/walkways all day long! It was super fun! And one of the members invited us in to have hot chocolate:)
We sang in a Christmas Concert at the church last night! It was awesome! And we did really well! We also had our "investigator" Shania at church! She is so cute! She looked at me as we were passing the bread and says "whats this?!" really loud! So I explain it all to her. Then at the end we sing The First Noel and thats her favorite song so she BELTS it out!! We were all dying laughing!
Well happy holidays! Love you all!

Yaayy it snowed a ton! It is sooooo beautiful! It dropped about 6 inches just yesterday! I got to experience shoveling snow for the first time and driving in it (not me...a member had to give us a ride) and sliding! Lots of firsts on the mission :)
This week was crazy busy! Ill give you a quick low-down!
Tuesday: We volunteered at Habitat for Humanities Restore! It was soo fun and they were so glad that we came to help! Spent most of the day in Granger trying to find new investigators! Then had a lesson with Jim! He acutally knows a lot about the church and believes a lot of it! Then in the evening we saw Kelly who is struggling to forgive some people in her life. We had SUCH a spiritual lesson with her to help her understand how she can forgive:)
Wednesday: We volunteered at the food pantry! We were on dish duty! It was pretty gross but we managed to have fun with it:) Then we saw some less actives, who we LOVVEE!!! We get to work with some of the most amazing people! Then we had dinner with Patience and her family. Patience was just baptized in July. Shes from Liberia so she made us African food!! It was soooooo good!!! I was sooo stuffed afterwards! And then she made homemade donuts!
Thursday: We got up at 4:45 am in order to get ready and drive to Indianapolis! We had a big Special Zone Conference with Elder Dyches from the Quorum of the 70. We had an amazing day with him and I learned sooo much! After it was over we stuck around to help, did some planning and then went to the temple!! It was amazing! We also spent the night in Fishers because we had another meeting the next day!
Friday: We had another meeting with Elder Dyches. This one was with the mission leadership (zone leaders and sister training leaders). And this one was even better! He is the coolest guy and definitely knew what each of us needed to hear! After it was over we made the long journey back home! (I slept most of the way haha)
Saturday: We had stake choir practice in the morning! We are doing a special Christmas concert Sunday evening (that ended up getting postponed to next week because of the snow). We are doing some songs from The Messiah and some other christmas songs/carols. Then we had a really cool lesson with our investigator Randy at the church! He is such a funny guys and just has such a pure desire to know God. We also had a lesson with Shania. She is Kellys daughter and is 8 but hasnt ever been to church and wants to learn so she can decide if she wants to be baptized. We taught her about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost! She is soo smart and picked up on it really quickly! That evening we visited with Karen, who recently moved in. Shes awesome! And she came to church again this week:) Its soo good to see her there:)
Sunday: We woke up to a ton of snow! Our cars got "grounded" (which means we cant drive them) so we had to organize rides to get to church. We had nothing to do in the morning so we just started shoveling the neighbors' driveways and sidewalks. Church was great! Shania came! And she said she loved it! We got to go to primary for a part of church and you better know that we gave it ALL we got when we sang "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" and "Once there was a snowman"!!
I learned a ton this week! But mostly that the smallest things we do in life can go really far! So never think that what youre doing for good is ever going to waste!
Love you all!

Heyyyy everyone!! I figured since I keep doing short emails that I owe you a good long one all about Mishakawa!
This week was a pretty solid week! Lots of good and some bad but thats just the life of a missionary:)
-funny- So on Thursday I had to get an ultrasound because I've been having stomach pains...thats not the funny part though. After we got done at the hospital we went to the food pantry with the other missionaries and they asked how it went and Sister Murray says, "ITS A GIRL!" hahaha it was so funny! (p.s. the ultrasound came out normal! So that's good:) )
-good- We met a super cool guy names Randy! We knocked on his door and shared #lighttheworld with him and we wanted to show him the actual video but he doesnt have internet! So we set up a time to come back with a member that had a smart phone so we could show it to him! We went back Friday and he loved the video! We also taught him a part of the Restoration lesson and he loved talking about it! Hopefully we can see him again and keep teaching him! He's the first new investigator we've had in a while so it's super exciting for us!
-bad- We got dropped by 3 investigators! (Dropped means that they no longer want to meet with us/are not interested.) But I guess you win some and you loose some!
-fun- We had exchanges with the Elkhart sisters on Saturday! I got to go with Sister Dawes again (my former companion and trainee) but this time she came to Mishawaka! It was a really fun day! We got to help decorate a Christmas tree! We also tracted and actually talked to some people who were interested! We saw some less actives too. It was a pretty solid day! And its always fun to be back with a former companion :)
-out of the ordinary- We also had our ward Christmas party Friday night! It was sooooo cool! They made it look like Bethlehem and we had "authentic" food from the time and there was a live Nativity! We also got to dress up as the angles! It was a really cool party and helped us all remember the true reason behind Christmas!
-work- The work here is finally picking up! We have been doing a lot of door-knocking and we have a goal to work with the members more in order to find people to teach! Our teaching pool is pretty slim right now and we KNOW that there are people out there ready to hear the Gospel and we just need to find them! So we are working really hard lately to try and find those people!
-spiritual- I have been LOVING the #LightTheWorld Christmas video! (if you havent seen it go on mormon.org and watch it!) It is sooo awesome and we are trying to do something everyday to be like the Savior! I love it so much because it reminds me of all the amazing things the Savior did but it shows that they arent just things that the Savior can do...we can do it too!!! I love serving others and this is just another excuse to get out there, forget about myself, and do things for other people!
Well I hope you all have a wonderful week and dont forget to think about the real reason for the season:)
