I can't believe its already the end of my first transfer! That is crazy talk! Also, sorry you didn't get an email from me last week...I was dying in my bed at home haha. I was pretty sick with what we think was the flu. But I'm all better now and working hard everyday! (Emily's mom here: There was no email from Emily last Monday, which made us super worried! But Tuesday we only got a quick email from her to let us know she had been VERY sick in bed with the flu. Her zone leader Elder Triance gave her a blessing and she seems to be ok now!)
Let's see...where do I even begin. We have a baptism scheduled on Saturday March 5th! Its for the 9 year old girl Rachel! We are all super excited for that! We are continuing to see her 3 times a week to teach her all the lessons. It takes a bit longer with her because she is just a kid and can't learn a whole lot at once, plus she gets distracted haha.
We also got a super awesome referral (there is power and blessings in referrals, so if you ever think of anyone that would be blessed from the gospel *cough EVERYONE! give the missionaries a referral!) from the parents of Rachel. Her name is Mary and she's older and loves alone and all of her children are grown. She has been to many churches in her life and says "none of them have been fit for her". We briefly met her and helped her download the Gospel Library app. Apparently she loves it and has a ton of questions because she called and wanted to meet really bad! We will see her Wednesday so pray that all goes well! (She's currently our only investigator!)
We have also found a lot of success in a small town about 30 min away called Delphi! We travel out there every Friday and see some less actives and also tract! A lot more people there are willing to listen to us than here in West Lafayette. The elders and us love going to Delphi every week:)
ALSO, THERE WAS A BLIZZARD THIS WEEK!!!!! It was the most snow I've ever seen (it turned out to only be 4 inches but it was coming down REALLY hard and REALLY fast!) That happened on Wednesday while we were having District Meeting in Lafayette and then the Zone Leaders "grounded' our cars, so we had to get home and couldn't use the cars, which is sad because then you just sit around the rest of the day and feel super unproductive:( But its all melted now and its warm!
One thing that really stood out to me this week was the small tender mercies that the Lord gives us. It was a hard week and finding here is very unsuccessful. But we continue to work and Heavenly Father has definitely blessed us. We have a new investigator and a lot of funny little stories from this week that just allowed us to smile and laugh. And that's all you need!
I love you all and miss you so much! I hope you all have a great week:) Thanks for all the love and prayers and support. We can definitely feel it:)
Love, Sister Griffiths
